Registered Dietitian
Summary/Objective:
The Registered Dietitian develops individualized treatment goals that optimize patients’ health.
Essential Functions:

Counsel patients on how to control blood sugar levels
Maintain/improve the nutritional status of patients by assessing nutritional risk, evaluating nutritional requirements, developing care plans, providing nutrition education, and evaluating patient nutritional outcomes
Following up with patients to ensure motivation and dedication to their program
Maintain accurate records of all patient interaction
Identify and prioritize patients requiring nutrition intervention and education based upon nutrition screening protocols
Demonstrate the knowledge and abilities to interpret clinical data obtained from medical records
Evaluate patients’ nutritional status correctly and assigns appropriate risk levels.
Provide medical nutrition therapy / education and weight management to patients
Assist in the development, design and improvement of patient education materials.
Collaborate with the physician regarding diet prescriptions, clinical recommendations, and the implementation of care plans

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday, working at multiple provider locations within Bear, Newark, Wilmington, Dover, Smyrna, and the surrounding areas.
Required Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nutrition
Registered Dietitian with current Delaware License
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certified Diabetes Educator or a willingness to obtain CDE within 2 years
Two years of clinical experience in a facility with nutrition support
Knowledge of bariatric procedures including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric band, gastric balloon, AspireAssist and vBloc therapy
